the world around me
is colorful,
like swirls of paint
on an artist's canvas.

but through my eyes,
it is all washing away.
rain is falling on the picture,
marring and distorting it.

the colors are fading,
everything is a blur.
soon, it will be gone.
and there will be nothing left.

the canvas will be blank,
nothing but stretch of white.
over time,
it will dirty.

the white will turn
gray,
then black.
black as the heart
inside of me.

i will be a canvas,
black and empty.
i am
a fading canvas.
